Nothing is separate, not people, not minds, not positive and negative circumstances, everything originates from one source that keeps expanding, everything is purposeful and relevant to your life and is here for a reason, a positive intent influenced by your reaction. Associate nothing with a specific reason, people or situation, everything originates from the universe created through countless mediums, even if there is hatred or anger towards you, it’s been created for a reason, it’s a test, act that way, don’t take it on your me, or don’t accept it as other’s ego. Daily meditate on this though for half an hour in complete peace and silence.
Start with a small niyam, for a month, but be firm and determined. Choose anyone, leave sugar, fix sleeping time, or quit any negative habits, and you will see that your attention shifts from other negativity overwhelming your mind to the patience required for discipline. Weekly fast works really well for me. It helps in having gratitude for food, detoxifying the body, improving concentration and focus, developing inner strength and shifting focus from repetitive negative thoughts or overwhelming circumstances to controlling hunger. Nothing is bigger than a starving stomach.
Walk and think, whenever your mind compels you to dwell on a thought or analyse a scenario, walk and think, if you can’t walk, don’t think, make it clear to yourself that you will sit idle, let things happen on their own, ignore matters of importance but not think if you aren’t walking, when you sit or stand idle, you can only rest, meditate, or act. And when you walk, you try to understand, bring clarity and decide for disturbing thoughts. This is an excellent way to have a controlled thinking mechanism.

Focus on restoring a peaceful state after every active episode in life, and also on not disrupting that state unnecessarily. The reason to disrupt your maun must be worthy. Whatever happens, a conversation, an argument, or any activity, focus on being in peace beyond that, turn silent, focus inwards, be mindful, be in solitude, and rest your mind. This will not only give your mind a break but will also help it comprehend life deeper and better, it will encourage learning and give wisdom, it will bring you at peace and break the chain of frustration.
